TCI Drug Prevention Foundation annual Masquerade Ball set for April 27th 2018
Turks and Caicos Drug Prevention Foundation is looking to host its most important event of the year, their annual Masquerade Ball on Friday April 27th, 2018 at The Courtyard at The Shore Club, Long Bay.
This event is hosted every year to help raise funds to help those individuals who are suffering from alcohol, drug addiction and the ones that are constantly going in and out of jail
.
The Turks and Caicos Drug Prevention Foundation works along with the Turks and Caicos Government on trying to provide some assistance for them. The aim of this event is to raise money to build a Half Way House for recovering addicts.
During a press conference on Monday February 19th at TCI’s first Half Way House location, Dierin Longmire, President of the Turks and Caicos Drug Prevention Foundation said, “We are now on the premises of the upcoming Half Way House; we’re going to have another masquerade ball this year April 27th at the Shore Club like there was last year which was a fantastic event and everyone enjoyed themselves.”
Longmire whose been working with the Drug Unit since 1995 stated that every year the event gains more and more support from the TCI community and they are very grateful for the support from everyone.
Also commenting on the upcoming event, Dr. Alicia Malcolm said, “We want to encourage members of the public to support the masquerade ball in April, as you can see where the funds are going and there is no squandering of any funds. It is manifested right here and it’s going towards a great cause because it’s really going to be helping to save lives of persons who struggle with addictions.”
Dr. Malcolm stressed that the communities support is greatly needed to make this event a success and she is positive that the community here in the Turks and Caicos is going to continue to give back to the Drug Prevention Foundation.
The community is asked to come out in huge numbers with their masquerade/costume attire to this year’s event. There will be live bands, raffles, mask will be provided for individuals, entertainment by local DJs and organisers of the events want everyone to come out and enjoy the buffet and they will be offering two free drink tickets.
Persons interested in purchasing tickets can contact Dierin Longmire on telephone number 649-246-2526.
